Joys of Camping

Camping is one of Americas favorite past times. It brings families together and helps build memories. Most remember when they were a kid and how your parents took you on that weekend trip in the RV. The rained out days when everyone had to cram inside and watch the little Black & White TV set or the nights when the Mosquito's bit everyone. Those wonderful nights rolled up in a sleeping bag listening to your sibling snore or your neighbors camping next to you playing Lynyrd Skynyrd all night. Oh yes, those were the days you never forget, especially the times when you got off from school on Friday and knew you were going camping for the weekend. The excitement you felt when you prepared for the weekend trip with mom and dad. The mystery of where you were going and what adventures you would experience. Yes, the cool mornings smelling Bacon and Eggs cooking on the Coleman Stove and the aroma of the instant Coffee. The day hikes in the wooded trails where you saw the beautiful flowers you only saw in pictures or the awesome wildlife along the trail. The awesome sunsets you saw from the campsite were breath taking and forever etched in your memory. Campfires at night bundled in sweat shirts or blankets with the family sitting in the lawn chairs telling ghost stories or talking about other camping weekends. These were the times good and bad that are never forgot and these memories take most people back to a better place in their mind. In today's world where Cell phones and I-Pads rule, we many times we forget about the simpler times in life when families talked and bonded together on those little weekend getaways. The times when people valued and cherished the special closeness in the family. Camping builds memories that etch themselves in your mind and  can always be remembered through your life.
